Random Seine photos

On the ending of this week, I still have many photos that need to be posted and today I'm giving you three photos taken last week, around the same subject. The one written on the title. You want me to say it again here? OK, today's photos have to do with the Seine river. Satisfied now? I hope you are. Let's go to the photos while you're enjoying making me repeat myself and look stupid.

This is from the metro. One of the very rare moments when line 1 gets on the surface. I'm glad that I got everything in focus except for the iron bars in front.
I like the fact that some people live in boats on the river. I don't know how it is in the winter, for example and if it's actually comfortable to live there, but still, it looks interesting.
While walking near St Michel and Notre Dame, I noticed this couple. And like a slimy and disgusting human being, or a paparazzo in short, I took a photo. With wrong white balance, as we saw a few posts ago.
I passed a warm filter and it looks a bit more normal, but still, I wasn't careful and I ruined several nice photos. At least we have the concept which I find very interesting.
And something deeply symbolic. What are we? Just little balloons on the river, waiting to be swallowed by dark tunnels. Or not, I don't know.
Yeah, probably not. Not everybody is light enough to be easily taken by the flow of the river and, anyway, it's 7:00 in the morning and instead of sleeping I'm posting photos. Am I sick or what? Don't answer that.

At the center of the city

So, today we went to my personal favourite area, where Hôtel de Ville and Notre Dame can be found, as well as many other interesting spots of interest. We had a nice walk and I had the chance to grab some nice photos, although many of them were sort of ruined because the previous time I had used the camera, I had forgotten the white balance at custom. So, there was something like a blue filter in many photos, like in the first one of today's post.

Too bad. I was following the seagull like crazy and I took numerous photos of it, until I realized that I did it without checking the WB. Serves me well for being stupid, I guess.
I applied a warm filter trying to save what I could, but with not much of success. Editing by itself is not enough if you don't take good care of the camera settings before you shoot. An important lesson was taught this way.
Near Hôtel de Ville, there is a nice water fountain. After putting the white balance back to auto, I wanted a few shots of the water. And, even though the foamy effect is nice and popular, I'm more of a stop motion fan.
The editing makes it look better, I think. Sharper and more vivid.
Sooo, beach volley. In front of the Hôtel de Ville. We saw it a couple of weeks ago, we see it again now. 4 different courts are set up, where teams play and there are also referees. There must be some tournaments or something. Nice!
The editing gives a bit more life to the colours. If you want to see the photos better, don't forget to click on them, so that you can see them as a slideshow.

Boat on the river

Some more practice next to the river today, only this time not very near Notre Dame. On a nice spot with a nice view, we saw also three cruisers with cabins and everything, where people actually sleep at night. I had no idea that these things exist in rivers as well!

This looks away from Notre Dame. There are interesting things to see even if they are not widely known.
Editing didn't make a big difference after all. I like the colour of the sky here.
This is not a cruiser. It's just a restaurant. Much longer ones exist and they are used also for some touring of the city.
Kind of looks better now, I believe.

Above the river

Once again I found myself at the area near Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame. This time the pictures were taken from one of the bridges of the area.

Just a few of the famous locks. I don't know if there's any space left for new ones. If you get there and want to add yours, maybe you will have to put it through one of the existing locks.
With such beautiful colours, who wouldn't want to contribute?
I've always wondered, do the people living in these houses consider themselves lucky? I mean, it's a very nice area but, do they see it this way?
Well, I guess that we all have our reasons to see what we see.
That's all for today. In a few hours, we're welcoming you at cafe Le 2 Moulins, in Paris (Metro 2, Blanche), with many awesome songs and a few great ones!

Behind Notre Dame

On the previous post I said that I had "songs" instead of "photos", right? It seems that old habits are hard to forget. For today I have something sunnier than the previous times. One day in February, I took advantage of the nice weather and went near Notre Dame (translates as Our Lady) where I played a few songs (this time it's the word I wanted to use) next to the Seine river. And I took a few pictures while I was there and the scenery was beautiful.
Very nice light and the clouds give the sky an interesting tone.
Now the colors are quite brighter. I like it more this way.

I turned a bit to the right. Beautiful buildings, lots of people walking around (the majority were tourists) and the river underneath. But it needs more colors.

And, to be precise, I meant that it needed more intense colors. This is a bit better, I'd say.
And how would it look like under a full moon? Well, I guess we'll never know after all.

And that's about it for today.
